Freedom PTA Parent Liaison Connection

The PTA Parent Liaison role was established to bridge the connection between Freedom families and the Teachers/Staff.  The purpose of this role is to show appreciation and provide support when needed.

What is the PTA Parent Liaison responsible for?

  • Communicate information related to PTA activities
  • Help with school fundraising activities & collection of donations
  • Organize Teacher and Staff Gifts 
  • Work with the teacher to get Volunteer Support from parents, as needed
  • Provide additional support to Teachers, as needed
  • Help support teachers in getting the classroom supplies they need
Each grade will have a PTA Parent Liaison "Team".  With each teacher having a parent representative.
  • This individual will need to be a PTA member and will attend all PTA meetings

Gift Giving

The Parent Liaisons will organize the collection and delivery of Teacher and Staff Gifts. 
  • The PTA does NOT recommended that Parent Liaisons collect cash from parents for gifts or other acts of appreciation for the Teachers and Staff. 
    • Parents should be encouraged to purchase gift cards or physical items to include in a gift (IF they are participating in a class gift). 
  • It is NOT required that all parents participate in class gifts.
  • If the class has a specific Instructional Assistant (IA), the PTA Parent Liaison should plan to include them.
