There are many volunteer opportunities with the PTA. You can support
Freedom's PTA by helping us with our current volunteer needs or by joining
one of our committees.
Below you will find current volunteer needs and the descriptions of
our various PTA Volunteer Committees. If you are interested in serving
on any one of these committees, please feel free to contact our PTA President. We welcome your assistance! (Please
remember, the county's volunteer training program is required.)
Current Volunteer
Needs:
Want to be part of the PTA Team?
If you would like to get involved and be part of a great group of dedicated parents, please contact Silke Elsner. We always love new volunteers and there are plenty of ways to get involved! See all our current openings below:
The Freedom Elementary PTA currently has the following openings:
Harvest Festival: We are looking for lots of volunteers who can help organize the festival that takes place in October!
- The Craft Corral is in need of a volunteer who organizes the craft projects at the Harvest Festival. Plans for crafts and activities (pumpkin painting, face painting, coloring sheets) are already existent but new, creative ideas are very much welcome.
- Movie Night: you would organize two to three movie nights at Freedom (one night every two/three months).
- Spelling Bee: the ‘Spelling Bee’ chair needs an apprentice who would take over the bee 2012/13 (time frame is late winter/early spring).
- Bulletin Board: a creative person is needed to keep our bulletin board updated (time frame is all year, occasionally).
- Market Day Fundraising Program:
Freedom Elementary's Market Day fundraising program needs volunteers
to help with the following:
1) make order reminder calls each month (a day or two before the order deadline)
2) order pickup reminder calls (a day or two before the pickup night)
3) pick up orders and payments from the school office
4) help out at pickup nights
If you can help, or would like more information, please contact Sue Tragerser. Thank you!!
- President and Secretary: we need new officers for the year 2012/13. Start thinking about it!
Cultural Programs Chairperson: Every school year the PTA organizes two or three cultural programs for the kids. The current chairperson is looking for a partner this year who will then be able to take over next year. The cultural programs chairperson picks and coordinates the events. This work is mostly done from home with occasional short meetings with the school administration.
