Fundraising

Every year, the Freedom PTA fundraising committee evaluates many fundraising brochures, talks to fundraising companies, and researches what other schools do to raise money. After deciding on two or three options, the committee presents them to the PTA general meeting. The PTA then votes on which fundraiser(s) to participate in. Examples are below.

Market Day MARKET DAY
Online registration
(Freedom school code is 19349)
Market Day is a unique fundraiser offering a wide selection of over 180 high quality foods at competitive prices, many of which are not available in your grocery store. Market Day brochures are sent home with students once a month. Parents may order by sending their order form/payment to the school or they can order ONLINE. Market Day pick-up is normally on the second Thursday of the month from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Market Day volunteers make pickup reminder phone calls, set up the food, receive payment, package orders, and check the customer’s order before they leave.
Target Take Charge of Education Target Take Charge of Education
Update your Target REDcard or REDcard Visa to designate Freedom Elementary as the recipient to receive 1% of your REDcard purchases at Target and Target.com and ½% of purchases made elsewhere with the REDcard Visa.

Send in used inkjet cartridges and cell phones
Send in your used inkjet cartridges and old cell phones to Freedom. Freedom will receive money for these used products to be used for school supplies. A box is set up in the hallway outside of the cafeteria to collect these items.

Freedom Restaurant Nights
For "Restaurant Night", a local restaurant agrees to split a certain amount of their profits with the school or PTA. All profits from the first restaurant night of the year go to the school. All profits from the remaining restaurant nights go to the PTA. Restaurant night is normally held in the evening during the week.

Freedom Apparel Sale
This fundraiser provides parents with the opportunity to buy apparel or items with the Freedom name and logo.

Catalog sale
Wrapping paper, candy, household items, magazines, etc

Hershey Park
In the past, discounted tickets have been sold in the spring. PTA volunteers prepare the information/order form, process the orders, distribute the tickets when they arrive, and mail the tickets to each buyer’s home address.

Original Works (art work shown on different items)
In the past, Freedom’s art teacher, Mrs. Campbell, has worked with every class (during art class) to do a special art piece. PTA volunteers receive the art work from Mrs. Campbell and prepare it for shipment to the Original Works company. Original Works makes a magnet showing each child’s art work. The magnet is sent home with the children along with an order form. Parents are able to order many other items (magnets, calendars, T-shirts, mugs, ceramic tiles, matted pictures, etc.) showing their child’s art work. Volunteers process the order forms, send the orders to Original Works, and distribute the merchandise to students when their items arrive.
