  • Principal Update
    • End of Quarter 1 tomorrow. Braggin’ Dragon party tomorrow.
    • First in Math:
      • The Math Resource Teacher spoke with the company and reduced the price from $9 to $6 per student, for a total cost of just over $1,000
    • We voted to send a gift to Mrs. Kennedy from the Sunshine Committee.
  • Teacher Update:
    • The idea of grants is still being thrown around.
    • Yearbook Committee – First grade parents are excited about sending in pictures to add to the yearbook.
  • Board Updates
    • 2016-2017 Budget
      • The Fun Run was great
      • Cultural Arts Event last week went well.
      • The new email for sending out a Connect Five is now [email protected]
      • VP and Treasurer positions are up for election this year and we will need to fill those posts.
      • Auditor is also needed

      • The kids had a good time.
      • Gross: $15,300
      • $684 in known expenses. T-shirts and beach balls final costs not finalized, but total expenses should be under $3,000.
      • Mrs. Smith asked about looking into the company who runs Fun Runs. – The PTA is not interested in this as the company takes a large portion of the profits.
    • Box Tops, Campbell’s, etc. – Rhonda Hatfield and Jen Blevins
      • The contest is running and going well. We discussed how to track the larger box tops.
      • Last year: $826, This year: $1,328.90
      • Looking for a new Box Top Coordinator
      • They can be submitted November and April 1
      • Teacher supply closet items arrived.
    • Restaurant Nights – Flyer to go home the day before
      • Waiting for Glory Days check from last year

      • Program has been reregistered
      • Checking on if the money is being allocated to PE equipment.
      • Mrs. Smith will give us a list of the PE equipment that was recently purchased with some of these funds.
    • Bingo: 4/22
    • Tristar fundraising
      • 6 weeks free. All funds come to the PTA.
      • Very few people have taken advantage of this opportunity. There seemed to be some confusion regarding the dates.
    • Unwined: Jennifer Hortiz will follow up with them for a possible fundraiser prior to Christmas

    • The website continues to look great.
    • MySchool Directory:
      • We have just over 240 families registered. We have a max of 250 families at this price break. Over 250 families adds $100 to our yearly cost.

    • Continue to blast email about upcoming events
    • Started an Intagram account tonight
  • External Community Coordinator
    • Boy Scout Information: Eric Leighton
      • Looking at having a giving tree of hats and mittens.
      • Food drive in December
    • Hot Spots: Chelsea
      • They are the before and after school enrichment program
      • Every Thursday are student led clubs.
        • Made Fleece tie blanket to donate
        • Packets for Johns Hopkins patients
        • November will be paired with platoons
